Exhibition “Communication” | Inner Vibrations of Nguyen Viet Thanh

Triển lãm Giao Cảm

The exhibition “Giao Cam” opens as a “silent dialogue” between artist Nguyen Viet Thanh and the public. There, colors not only exist, but also resonate in the minds of each viewer like a delicate melody. Each work is a deep communication between personal emotions, memories and the objective world, where viewers are invited to stop, listen and “communicate” with the artist.

Introducing the exhibition “Giao Cam”

The exhibition “Giao Cam” is not simply a painting exhibition, but also a spiritual journey, where artist Nguyen Viet Thanh opens up his inner world through the language of color, light and rhythm of painting. This is an important milestone in his creative career, marking the transition from quiet seclusion to a strong, confident and individual voice.

Introduction to artist Nguyen Viet Thanh

Painter Nguyen Viet Thanh at the exhibition

Nguyen Viet Thanh is not an artist who seeks fame early; he spent long years quietly “hiding”, maturing each stroke, shape and emotion. After graduating from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts in 1986, he spent time creating privately, accumulating observations and thoughts before holding his first solo exhibition in 2005.

The first exhibition was considered to reveal his exploration and experimentation with many styles. By the second exhibition (2017, Hoai Niem), he had begun to show a clear personal mark, attracting more attention from the art world.

With Giao Cam – his third solo exhibition – Nguyen Viet Thanh continues to affirm his choice of an independent path in creation. He does not seek easy trends, but delves into the area of personal emotions, taking advantage of layers of color, light and block structures to “communicate” with viewers. He creates a space where not only the artist can express himself, but the viewer is also invited to participate in that journey: not simply looking at the paintings, but vibrating, listening and connecting.

Material and performance of “Giao Cam”

Chất liệu của tác phẩm trong triển lãm

In “Giao Cam”, artist Nguyen Viet Thanh not only paints with colors, but also with memories, emotions and traces of the act of creation itself. The material becomes a language, and the surface of the painting becomes an energy field, where viewers can feel the breath, rhythm and vibration of the artist’s soul.

  • Mixed materials – multi-layered like layered memories: Nguyen Viet Thanh’s paintings are often created with acrylic, oil paint, and many different coatings. Each layer of color both conceals and reveals, evoking the feeling of layers of memories, layers of emotions deep inside.
  • Rich colors – emotional honesty: He does not choose a pleasant color palette, pleasing to the eye, but uses bold, strong, and decisive tones. The colors here are not decorative, but the instinctive voice, carrying the rhythm of the heart, sometimes fierce, sometimes deep.
  • Traces of the artist’s work – the presence of the hand: Brush marks, scratches, overlapping layers are not hidden, but are kept as evidence of the moment of creation. Viewers not only see the painting, but also feel that the “artist’s hand” is still present, in dialogue with them.
  • The communication between form and color: In Nguyen Viet Thanh’s paintings, the form is no longer the object of description, but dissolves, transforms, so that color becomes the subject of emotion. It is this vagueness and formlessness that creates an open space, inviting viewers to find their own image in the layer of color.

Thanks to this combination, his paintings go beyond the limit of “to see”, but become a space to feel. Each work is like a bridge, where the artist and the viewer enter together, listen together, and share secret but intense vibrations.

How to arrange space at the exhibition

Không gian triển lãm Giao Cảm

The exhibition space “Giao Cam” is designed as a symphony of light, color and rhythm, where every step of the viewer opens a new chapter in the emotional journey. Instead of a rigid arrangement, the display is dialogic, evoking freedom to explore and create unique experiences for each individual.

  • Open layout – free journey: The exhibition does not impose a single route. Viewers can start from any work, only to realize that they are still in the same continuous emotional flow, without beginning, without end.
  • Light as a visual language: Light is delicately arranged, sometimes strongly illuminating, sometimes quietly hiding. The interwoven light and dark spaces highlight the depth of the painting, while opening up a quiet space for the mind, like necessary breaks in a piece of music.
  • Space as a contemplative space: Between the clusters of works are white walls, visual silences, allowing viewers to pause, breathe, and let the echoes from the previous painting resonate in their hearts before receiving the next work.
  • Seamless flow of emotions: The works are placed next to each other not in chronological or thematic order, but according to emotional rhythm. They are like different chapters in a resonant song, leading the audience from quiet to passionate, from deep to explosive.
  • Viewers – a part of the work: The exhibition space is not just for “looking at paintings”, but for “living with paintings”. When the audience slows down, looks closely at the layers of paint, they will see the traces of the brush, the rhythm of the hand, and feel as if they are directly communicating with the artist’s own breathing.

The Giao Cam exhibition is not simply a place to display paintings, but a “space of empathy”, where the artist puts out his emotions for the audience to sympathize and resonate with. Nguyen Viet Thanh here is not only a creator, but also someone who invites everyone to “communicate, listen and accompany” with the subtlety of colors and layers.
